Flatford Press is a small, privately owned imprint specialising in publications on food and drink in the context of responsible farming, fishing and environmental sensitivity.

Flatford Press is particularly concerned with the need to modernise attitudes towards the production and consumption of food and wine. There is a great need to reduce transportation and promote the benefits of organic and local produce. It is also vital to improve the education of consumers towards better and safer nutrition and greater empathy with the natural world.

Flatford Press is managed by Richard Freeman.

Richard Freeman is a Cambridge graduate.  He worked for many years in finance in the City of London and since his retirement has concentrated his interests in French food, wine, cooking, and the countryside. He is very much a countryman and was brought up in Norfolk although he has lived in Suffolk for over 40 years.
